Hot Tub Troubleshooting Guide
Q: My hot tub isn’t heating, why?
A: Is the hot tub new OR has the heater been working and recently stopped heating?
A1: New– 3 Things to Check
- Have you removed all items from the sanitary basket including the plastic around the filter?
- Check your water level. Is there water level at least 1 inch above the top of the sanitary basket?
- Is your hot tub in standard working mode? It should have an “N” on the keypad if it’s in standard mode.
B1: Not New, Previously Working,
- Check your water level. Is there water level at least 1 inch above the top of the sanitary basket?
- Check the filter, has it been replaced, has it been cleaned, have they done water maintenance on their hot tub?
- After removing the filter, check if there is a blockage in the basket where it needs to be cleaned?
- The circulation pump should come on automatically when the heater is on. Check to see if there is water being circulated inside the hot tub. If not, the circulation pump has gone bad.
- Check the keypad to see if the heater light is on. If the light is on the heater may have gone bad.
Q: We just installed our hot tub, it's not powering on.
A1: Let’s confirm the power you have connected to the hot tub. Is it hooked to 240V?
A2: Did your electrician connect directly into the power wire coming from the control box or did he hard wire the hot tub into the control box?
Pigtail- Ask for photos of the junction box hookup and ask if there is a neutral that has been capped.
Direct: Open the blue box, get photos of the hookups, verify the 2 hots are in L1/L2 and the ground is on the grounding bar and hasn’t been relocated. This clarifies if anything was moved and could cause problems with functionality in the hot tub.
A2: Verify above info, see if there is 240v coming from the main lines/heater wires.

A1: Simply cut the breaker off, wait 30 seconds and come back to the keypad and hold the 3 bubble button for 10 seconds and it will cycle,

Q: What is the heating time setting on the keypad used for?
A1: The heating time setting is used if you get in the hot tub during a specified time each day. The heating time will turn on automatically and run for the duration that you set it for. Then it will default to the temperature setting on the keypad. This setting allows you to keep the water temperature down while not in use saving energy and cost.
Q: What is the circulation time setting on the keypad used for?
A1: The circulation time setting is used to designate a specific time each day for the water to cycle. This helps keep the water clean and pure while not in use. We recommend setting the water circulation to come on for an hour once in the morning and once in the evening.
