Site Preparation and Assembly
- Surface: Install on a solid, level, dry indoor surface capable of supporting the sauna and occupants.
- Access: Measure exterior doors, hallways, corners, stairs, and the final room before ordering.
- Electrical: Complete or confirm the electrical plan before the sauna arrives.
- Assembly: Finnmark requires professional installation and at least two physically capable people. Arrange qualified assembly help and electrical work separately from standard freight delivery.
- Clearance: Maintain at least 3 inches above and on all sides of the freestanding cabin, plus door-opening space. Do not build it into a structure. Follow the separate Harvia heater clearance and ventilation instructions.

Using Infrared, Traditional Heat, and Red Light
The FD-5 gives you several ways to enjoy a home sauna: radiant infrared warmth, traditional heat from a stone-filled Harvia heater, and integrated red light. Use each system according to the Finnmark and Harvia instructions, including any guidance for combined operation.
No permanent plumbing connection is required. For steam during traditional sauna use, add small amounts of suitable water only to the heated sauna stones as directed by Harvia. Keep water away from infrared heaters, lighting, and electrical components.
Care and Maintenance
- Use clean towels on the benches and clean the interior with manufacturer-approved methods.
- Allow the cabin to dry and air out after use.
- Let the traditional heater and stones cool fully before inspection or maintenance.
- Inspect and rearrange sauna stones as Harvia directs, replacing damaged stones and keeping airflow clear.
- Follow both manuals for electrical inspections, cleaning, troubleshooting, and service.
