EOS Cubo Avantgarde 208/3 Electric Sauna Heater
The EOS Cubo Avantgarde 208/3 combines powerful traditional sauna heating with a distinctive architectural design. Its symmetrical matte-black exterior and raised basket of decorative white quartz stones make the heater a striking focal point in modern residential, hospitality and commercial sauna rooms.
Choose from 7.5 kW, 9 kW, 10.5 kW or 12 kW output for sauna rooms up to approximately 634 cubic feet. Every model on this page is designed for fixed 208V three-phase electrical service.
A Premium Sauna Heater Designed to Be Seen
The Cubo Avantgarde is engineered for sauna rooms where the heater contributes to the overall architectural design. Its scratch-resistant matte-black finish extends across every side and the top, allowing the unit to look finished from multiple viewing angles.
The compact, symmetrical footprint makes it suitable for placement against a wall, in front of glass panels or near the center of a properly designed sauna room. A stylized upper stone extension holds decorative white quartz stones above the internal traditional stone compartment.
Architectural Styling
A matte-black exterior and contrasting white quartz stones create a bold contemporary focal point.
Flexible Placement
The finished exterior on every side supports wall, glass-front and open-layout installations.
Commercial-Scale Output
Four output options provide heating capacity for sauna rooms ranging from approximately 247 to 634 cubic feet.
Distinctive Design With High-Performance Sauna Heating
Matte-Black Finish on All Sides
The scratch-resistant powder-coated steel exterior provides a consistent, premium appearance from every viewing direction.
White Quartz Stone Accent
The raised extension frame holds approximately 22 pounds of included decorative white quartz stones.
77-Pound Stone Package
The heater includes approximately 55 pounds of traditional sauna stones and 22 pounds of white quartz stones.
Optimized Air Convection
The large stone capacity and internal layout support efficient airflow, heat retention and satisfying steam production.
Service-Friendly Construction
The heating elements are positioned so the stones do not rest directly on them, supporting airflow and easier service access.
Made in Germany
The Cubo Avantgarde is manufactured in Germany by EOS Saunatechnik.
Choose Your Heater Output
| Product Attribute | Available Configuration |
|---|---|
| Heater Output | 7.5 kW, 9 kW, 10.5 kW or 12 kW |
| Finish | Matte-black Avantgarde finish |
| Electrical Configuration | 208V / 3PH AC / 60 Hz |
| Installation Type | Freestanding floor installation |
Important: Heater output is the only selectable option. The finish, voltage and phase are fixed. Have a qualified electrician verify 208V three-phase service before ordering.
Match the Cubo Avantgarde to Your Sauna Room
Choose the heater according to the usable interior volume of the sauna cabin. Final sizing must also account for insulation, glass area, ceiling height, ventilation, tile, masonry and other non-insulated surfaces.
| Heater Output | Recommended Sauna Volume | Published Floor Area at 6.2-Foot Height |
|---|---|---|
| 7.5 kW | Approximately 247 to 353 cu. ft. | Approximately 39.8 to 57 sq. ft. |
| 9 kW | Approximately 314 to 494 cu. ft. | Approximately 50.6 to 79.7 sq. ft. |
| 10.5 kW | Approximately 387 to 527 cu. ft. | Approximately 62.4 to 85 sq. ft. |
| 12 kW | Approximately 494 to 634 cu. ft. | Approximately 79.7 to 102.3 sq. ft. |
The published sizing ranges overlap. When more than one heater output fits the calculated room volume, consider glass area, insulation, desired heat-up time and anticipated frequency of use before making the final selection.
Complete the EOS Cubo Avantgarde System
The Cubo Avantgarde does not include an onboard sauna control. A compatible external EOS control system and appropriately rated power equipment are required for operation.
Required: EOS Sauna Control
Select an EOS control compatible with traditional sauna operation, 208V three-phase service and the chosen heater output.
Required: EOS Power Box
The correctly rated Power Box provides the electrical switching interface between the external control and sauna heater.
Included: Sauna Stones
The package includes approximately 55 pounds of traditional stones and 22 pounds of decorative white quartz stones.
Required: Professional Installation
Electrical connections, sensors, heater placement, ventilation and control wiring must be completed by qualified professionals.
Higher-output planning: The 10.5 kW and 12 kW models require control and power equipment rated for their full output. A system rated only for 9 kW is not sufficient.
Traditional Stones With a White Quartz Accent
The Cubo Avantgarde uses a two-level stone arrangement. The internal rock store holds traditional sauna stones used for heat storage and steam production, while the raised extension frame holds decorative white quartz stones.
55 Pounds of Traditional Stones
The internal stone compartment holds the primary stones used for heat retention and water application.
22 Pounds of White Quartz
The raised Avantgarde basket holds the included decorative stones that create the heater’s signature appearance.
77 Pounds Total
The combined stone mass supports heat retention, strong convection and traditional sauna steam.
Ideal for Glass Walls and Open Sauna Layouts
Because the Cubo Avantgarde is finished on every side, it works well in rooms where several sides of the heater remain visible. Its compact footprint and symmetrical shape complement contemporary sauna cabins with glass walls and open sight lines.
In Front of Glass Panels
The finished rear and side surfaces allow the heater to complement glass walls without exposing an unfinished back panel.
Near the Center of the Sauna
The all-sided design supports open-layout placement when required clearances and protective guard rails are provided.
Against a Sauna Wall
The heater may also be installed near a wall when all manufacturer clearances and ventilation requirements are followed.
Optional Guard-Rail Brackets
Optional four-sided mounting brackets are available for building an appropriate wooden heater guard rail.

Coordinate the Heater, Cabin and Control System
Step 1
Calculate Sauna Volume
Measure the usable interior and account for glass, tile, masonry and other surfaces that increase heat loss.
Step 2
Plan Heater Placement
Select a stable, level floor location while maintaining all wall, ceiling and guard-rail clearances.
Step 3
Select the Control System
Match the chosen output with a compatible 208V three-phase EOS control and appropriately rated Power Box.
Step 4
Complete Professional Installation
Have the wiring, ventilation, sensors, safety equipment and commissioning completed by qualified professionals.
Maintain a Safe Freestanding Installation
The Cubo Avantgarde becomes extremely hot during operation. Install the heater on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface that can support the heater and its full stone load.
- Maintain approximately 2.4 inches from the heater to adjacent sauna walls where specified.
- Maintain all required distances from the heater top to the sauna ceiling.
- Install an appropriate guard rail around accessible sides.
- Do not install the heater on easily flammable laminate or synthetic flooring.
- Ceramic tile or another appropriate heat-resistant floor is recommended.
- Do not install the heater under a bench, inside an alcove or beneath a sloping roof.
- Never place towels, clothing or other objects on or above the heater.
Proper Airflow Supports Performance and Safety
Every sauna cabin must include correctly sized fresh-air intake and exhaust openings. Insufficient ventilation can reduce performance and may cause overheating.
| Heater Output | Published Minimum Air Inlet and Outlet |
|---|---|
| 7.5 kW | Approximately 13.8 in × 2 in |
| 9 kW | Approximately 13.8 in × 2.4 in |
| 10.5 kW | Approximately 13.8 in × 2.4 in |
| 12 kW | Approximately 13.8 in × 2.8 in |
The air intake may be positioned below or behind the heater approximately 2 to 4 inches above the floor. Exhaust openings should generally be positioned low on the opposite wall. Follow the complete EOS and sauna cabin instructions.
Load the Stones for Airflow and Steam Performance
The Cubo Avantgarde includes traditional sauna stones and decorative white quartz stones. Each stone type must be placed in its intended section of the heater.
Traditional Sauna Stones
- Rinse dust and loose debris from the stones before loading.
- Place the stones loosely in the internal rock store.
- Maintain open spaces for heated air to circulate.
- Do not wedge stones tightly against the heating elements.
White Quartz Stones
- Place the white quartz stones in the raised Avantgarde basket.
- Arrange the stones securely so loose pieces cannot fall.
- Do not exceed the specified stone capacity.
- Replace stones that become cracked or unstable.
Do not operate the sauna heater without the required stones. Incorrect loading can restrict airflow, reduce performance or shorten heating-element life.
Create Traditional Finnish Sauna Steam
After the stones have reached operating temperature, small controlled amounts of clean water may be poured over them to create steam.
- Use only clean water suitable for sauna use.
- Apply water in controlled amounts.
- Do not flood the heater or pour excessive water at one time.
- Do not use water containing salt, chlorine or damaging contaminants.
- Use sauna fragrances only when properly diluted and used as directed.
- Never place fragrance containers or other objects on the heater.
Protect Long-Term Heater Performance
Inspect the Stones
Rearrange the stones periodically to maintain airflow. Replace cracked, crumbling or heavily deteriorated stones.
Clean the Exterior
Allow the heater to cool completely before cleaning. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the matte-black finish.
Inspect Before Each Use
Confirm that no towels, cleaning products or other objects have been placed on or near the heater.
Use Qualified Service Personnel
Internal repairs, electrical troubleshooting and heating-element replacement must be completed by qualified professionals.

What minimum sauna height is required?
The published minimum sauna cabin height is approximately 6.5 feet.
Can the heater be installed beneath a bench?
No. The Cubo Avantgarde is a freestanding exposed heater and is not approved for installation beneath a bench, in an alcove or beneath a sloping roof.
Does the heater include a built-in control?
No. A compatible external EOS sauna control and appropriately rated EOS Power Box are required.
Which EOS controls can be used?
Compatible control families include appropriately configured EOS Touch 3 and EOS EmoTec systems. The complete control system must match the selected output and 208V three-phase electrical configuration.
Do the 10.5 kW and 12 kW heaters need higher-capacity controls?
Yes. The control and Power Box must be rated for the selected heater’s complete output. Equipment limited to 9 kW cannot operate a 10.5 kW or 12 kW heater by itself.
Can remote or smartphone control be added?
Remote connectivity may be available when the heater is paired with an eligible EOS control and compatible EOS connectivity equipment. Approved remote-start safety equipment may also be required.
Can water be poured over the stones?
Yes. Once the stones are fully heated, small controlled amounts of clean water may be poured over them to create traditional sauna steam.
