EOS Mythos S45 Electric Sauna Heater
The EOS Mythos S45 is a high-output freestanding sauna heater created for large residential, hospitality and commercial sauna rooms. Its award-winning cubistic design, elevated pedestal and distinctive Cubius stone system transform essential sauna equipment into a dramatic architectural centerpiece.
Choose a 12 kW or 15 kW heater in Anthracite, Black, Stainless Steel or White. Every Mythos S45 model on this page is designed for fixed 208V three-phase electrical service.
Sculptural Design for Large Sauna Rooms
The Mythos S45 expands the signature Mythos design into a larger, higher-output heater for sauna cabins requiring up to 15 kW of heating capacity. The stainless steel construction, geometric shell and pillar-style base create a sleek floating appearance while preserving convenient service access.
Its uniform finish on all sides makes the S45 especially well suited for installation near glass panels or in an open sauna layout. A substantial 99-pound stone capacity promotes heat storage, efficient air convection and satisfying steam production.
Award-Winning Design
The exclusive cubistic body and elevated pedestal create a premium architectural focal point.
Large-Sauna Performance
Choose 12 kW or 15 kW for sauna rooms ranging from approximately 494 to 880 cubic feet.
Signature Cubius Stones
Included geometric stones complete the Mythos design while concealing the traditional rock store below.
High-Capacity Heating With Premium Construction
Stainless Steel Construction
The durable inner and outer construction supports demanding residential, hospitality and commercial sauna use.
Four Finish Options
Choose Anthracite, Black, Stainless Steel or White to coordinate with the sauna’s interior design.
99-Pound Stone Capacity
The large stone chamber provides substantial thermal mass for heat retention and effective water evaporation.
Cubius Stone Kit Included
The standard package includes the Cubius stone set and mounting frame designed for the wider S45 heater.
Slim 14.6-Inch Depth
The space-conscious depth provides high heating capacity without extending excessively into the sauna room.
Service-Friendly Layout
The rock store is positioned above the heating elements to promote airflow and improve service access.
Select the Finish and Heater Output
| Product Option | Available Selections |
|---|---|
| Finish | Anthracite, Black, Stainless Steel or White |
| Heater Output | 12 kW or 15 kW |
| Electrical Configuration | 208V / 3PH AC / 60 Hz |
| Installation | Freestanding floor installation |
Important: Finish and heater output are the only selectable options. The electrical configuration is fixed at 208V three-phase. Have a qualified electrician verify compatible three-phase service before ordering.
Coordinate the Mythos S45 With Your Sauna Interior
Anthracite
A deep charcoal finish that complements modern wood interiors, dark hardware and architectural glass.
Black
A bold matte-black appearance suited to minimalist, contemporary and high-contrast sauna rooms.
Stainless Steel
A brushed metal appearance that highlights the heater’s premium stainless steel construction.
White
A clean matte-white finish that creates a striking contrast with natural wood and darker sauna surfaces.
Product photography, lighting and display settings can affect how finishes appear. Confirm your selected finish before submitting the order.
Choose 12 kW or 15 kW
Select the heater according to the usable interior volume of the sauna. Final sizing must also account for insulation, ceiling height, ventilation and heat loss caused by glass, tile, masonry and other non-insulated surfaces.
| Heater Output | Recommended Sauna Volume | Published Floor Area at 6.2-Foot Height |
|---|---|---|
| 12 kW | Approximately 494 to 634 cu. ft. | Approximately 79.7 to 102.3 sq. ft. |
| 15 kW | Approximately 634 to 880 cu. ft. | Approximately 102.3 to 142 sq. ft. |
A sauna room near the 634-cubic-foot transition point should be evaluated according to insulation, glass area, desired heat-up speed and expected frequency of use before selecting 12 kW or 15 kW.
Complete the EOS Mythos S45 System
The Mythos S45 does not include an onboard control. A compatible external EOS sauna control and properly rated power equipment are required for operation.
Required: EOS Sauna Control
Select a control system rated for 208V three-phase service and up to 15 kW of heater output.
Required: EOS Power Box
The appropriately rated EOS Power Box provides the switching interface between the sauna control and the heater.
Included: Stone Package
The package includes approximately 99 pounds of total stone filling, including the traditional stones and Cubius stone system.
Required: Professional Installation
Electrical connections, control wiring, sensor placement, ventilation and commissioning must be completed by qualified professionals.
Control capacity matters: The selected control and Power Box must support the complete 12 kW or 15 kW heater load. A system limited to 9 kW is not sufficient for the Mythos S45.
A Distinctive Geometric Stone Presentation
The Mythos S45 includes a Cubius stone set and mounting frame sized for its wider stone chamber. The geometric stones rest above the traditional sauna stones to complete the heater’s signature architectural appearance.
S45 Cubius Kit
The included S45 kit contains 24 Cubius stones and the compatible supporting frame.
Traditional Stones Below
Natural sauna stones fill the internal rock store for heat retention and traditional steam production.
Optional Stone Designs
Additional Cubius heights, colors and Cubius Loop arrangements may be available as optional accessories.
Ideal for Glass Walls and Open Sauna Layouts
The Mythos S45 has a consistent finish on every side, making it suitable for sauna rooms where the heater is visible from several directions.
Near Glass Panels
The finished rear and side surfaces complement glass walls without exposing an unfinished back panel.
Open Sauna Layouts
The sculptural pedestal design supports open placement when all required clearances and protective barriers are provided.
Large-Cabin Centerpiece
The wider S45 body gives larger sauna rooms a visually proportional heater without excessive depth.
Optional Guard-Rail Brackets
Compatible brackets may be used to construct a suitable wooden heater guard rail around accessible sides.

208V Three-Phase Electrical Requirements
Both Mythos S45 outputs require fixed 208V three-phase AC service at 60 Hz. The heater uses multiple electrical connections between the sauna control or relay equipment and the heater.
| Heater Output | Electrical Service | Published Fuse Protection | Published Minimum Conductors |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 kW | 208V / 3PH AC / 60 Hz | 30 A | Two 208V three-phase heater circuits using minimum copper conductors specified by EOS |

Electrical review required: The S45 connection arrangement is more complex than a standard single-circuit heater. The electrician must use the wiring diagram supplied with the heater and control system to determine all conductors, circuits, overcurrent protection and disconnect requirements.
Coordinate the Heater, Cabin and Control System
Step 1
Calculate Sauna Volume
Measure the usable interior and account for glass, tile, masonry and other surfaces that increase heat loss.
Step 2
Confirm Three-Phase Service
Verify that 208V three-phase power is available at the installation location before selecting the heater.
Step 3
Select the Control System
Match the 12 kW or 15 kW heater with a compatible EOS control and appropriately rated Power Box.
Step 4
Complete Professional Installation
Have the wiring, sensors, ventilation, safety equipment and commissioning completed by qualified professionals.
Maintain a Safe Freestanding Installation
The Mythos S45 becomes extremely hot during operation. Install it on a stable, level and heat-resistant surface capable of supporting the heater and the complete stone load.
- Maintain all published clearances from walls and combustible surfaces.
- Maintain approximately 35.4 inches between the heater and a horizontal ceiling surface.
- Install an appropriate guard rail around accessible sides.
- Do not install the heater on easily flammable laminate or synthetic flooring.
- Ceramic tile or another suitable heat-resistant surface is recommended.
- Do not install the heater beneath a bench, inside an alcove or beneath a sloping roof.
- Never place towels, clothing, cleaning products or other objects on the heater.
Provide Proper Sauna Airflow
The sauna cabin must include correctly sized fresh-air intake and exhaust openings. Insufficient ventilation can reduce performance and create an overheating hazard.
| Heater Output | Published Minimum Air Inlet and Outlet |
|---|---|
| 12 kW | Approximately 13.8 in × 2.8 in |
| 15 kW | Approximately 13.8 in × 3.5 in |
Air openings may be installed below or behind the heater approximately 2 to 3.9 inches above the floor. Exhaust openings should generally be positioned low on the opposite wall. Follow the EOS manual and sauna cabin manufacturer’s instructions for the final layout.
Load the Stone System for Proper Airflow
The Mythos S45 uses a large internal store of natural sauna stones with the Cubius stone system mounted above it.
Traditional Sauna Stones
- Use natural sauna stones in the manufacturer-specified size.
- Rinse dust and loose debris from the stones before loading.
- Place stones loosely in the internal rock store.
- Maintain open spaces that allow heated air to circulate.
- Do not force stones tightly against the heating elements.
Cubius Stones
- Install the S45 Cubius frame according to the manual.
- Place the Cubius stones securely on the supporting frame.
- Confirm that no stone can fall from the heater.
- Replace any cracked, loose or unstable stone before use.
Do not operate the heater without the required stones. Incorrect stone loading may restrict airflow, reduce performance or shorten heating-element life.
Create Traditional Finnish Sauna Steam
After the stones reach operating temperature, small controlled amounts of clean water may be poured over them to create steam.
- Use only clean water suitable for sauna use.
- Apply water in controlled amounts.
- Do not flood the heater or pour excessive water at one time.
- Do not use water containing salt, chlorine or damaging contaminants.
- Use sauna fragrances only when properly diluted and used as directed.
- Never place fragrance containers or other objects on the heater.
Protect Long-Term Heater Performance
Inspect the Stone Store
Rearrange the natural stones periodically to preserve airflow. Replace cracked, crumbling or deteriorated stones.
Check the Cubius System
Inspect the Cubius stones and mounting frame to confirm every component remains stable and undamaged.
Clean the Exterior
Allow the heater to cool completely before cleaning. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the selected finish.
Use Qualified Service Personnel
Electrical troubleshooting, internal repairs and heating-element replacement must be completed by qualified professionals.
